Pray For Your Government

“We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

2 Chronicles 20:12b

“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

Pray for World Leaders:

Here’s a thought: what if we prayed for our leaders, instead of joining our voices to the masses of critical, complaining ones?

It’s very easy to criticise. I caught myself slipping into that frame of mind yesterday as our local leaders here in Northern Ireland grappled to find a way forward in this ‘second wave’ of the pandemic.

Pray for the leaders of your country. They make mistakes sometimes, just like you and me.
Prayer is the only thing that brings change.

  1. We have just gone through the throws of an election – and as we move forward we need to support, encourage and build each other up so that we can face what our many tomorrow’s bring – is it going to be easy? No! Are some people going to be unhappy? Of course the are but we still need to pull together so that we can live our lives in such a way that we can be seen to be caring for others and living out our Christian values in every area of our lives.
The leaders need us and funnily enough we actually need them 😁

    1. Absolutely. This is very true. We might not agree with their policies or leadership styles, but we can still support them by praying: for Godly wisdom – and most of all, for their salvation. They need Jesus as much as we did (and do).
