“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 ESV)
We are so much more prone to fear and discouragement when we are alone. But if you belong to the King of kings, you are never alone. You need never give in to these debilitating emotions of fear and dismay because your Father God has declared:
* He is your God.
* He is with you.
* He will strengthen you.
* He will help you.
It’s when we forget how big our God is, and His immeasurable love for us, that we become dismayed, discouraged and fearful.
“Fear not, for I am with you.”
It’s both a command and a promise. As described in the preceding verses (Isaiah 41:2-4) our all powerful, almighty God rules over the nations. This same God chose you and loves you (verses 8-9) This is the One who commands you not to fear. But in the same breath as this command, there is a promise: “I am with you.”
What more could we possibly need? “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

Amen! Simple, but also a big and hard concept at times.

What more powerful words could be spoken when we face the demon of fear head on? I don’t think there are any. And when we stand in faith in our God we will see that our fear is more of a spectre than reality. Truly nothing, and I do mean nothing, can take us out when we are standing with our God surrounding us.
This is the very scripture God gave us when we faced the opposition of government, the police and nasty neighbors as we were being made homeless. This is the Scripture we clung too when huddled in a tent trailer as 3 drunks tried to kill us. These are the words that sustained us when all seemed lost, yet was not.
God IS greater than our fear. Let us run to Him and know that we are safe.
Thank you Jill. May our Father richly bless you for your mustard seed faith!

Thank you for sharing a part of your story with us; a powerful testimony to God’s conquering power over fear!
I think in these present unsettling times it’s easy to forget who we belong to, and to focus on our fear rather than on Him.
