The Friendship of God Psalm 25:14
Just a quick little thought I’ve been musing over for the past couple of days: I don’t know about you, but I’m often surprised, (in a delighted sort of way) when I feel that God has been speaking to me about something specific, and then someone else shares that very same thing!
We so often see what we refer to as a ‘common thread’, through the church, all over the world, and it excites our hearts and ignites our faith.
What struck me was this; why does this surprise me?
I am a mum of four adult children who I love equally. If I have something on my heart that I want to share with them, I share it with all of them, if they have the time and inclination to listen. They’re adults, so they aren’t obligated to listen. I phone them regularly and if they want to talk to me or have the time to talk to me, they’ll answer my call. It stands to reason that it would work the same way with God, who is, after all a Father.
God is, among many other wondrous things, THE Father. Our Father. And he’s a Father who loves to share His heart with his children.
He’s always speaking, always sharing what’s on His heart and it’s up me to make the time to draw near to Him and listen.
Psalms 25:14 ESV “The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.”
“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.”
